By increasing the listings and registrations and encouraging updates of online business profiles of fisheries and marine-related establishments at the Mississippi MarketMaker website, more updated seafood marketing information about Gulf seafood products harvested and processed by Mississippi fishermen and processors and marine-related tourism services provided by for-hire charter boats and related businesses are made available online to suppliers, buyers and consumers of seafood products and marine-related and services.

By developing and maintaining Mississippi MarketMaker social media networks in coordination with Gulfwide fisheries marketing programs, the project staff will provide more updated Gulf seafood marketing and marine-related tourism information to U.S. consumers using social media networks in collaboration with the National MarketMaker Program, other member states and the and the GOM Seafood Marketing Coalition.

By conducting face-to-face training workshops for fisheries and marine-related establishments, regulators, marketing, and research/extension faculty and staff, the project staff will increase the awareness, acceptance and adoption of Mississippi MarketMaker as a marketing tool for Gulf seafood products harvested and processed by Mississippi fishermen and processors and marine-related tourism services provided by for-hire charter boats and related businesses.
